Earthy Style Shoot

Modern, Earthy, Warm

All words I would use to describe a recent style shoot that I hosted in collaboration with some incredible vendors in the amazing Springfield, MO area. It’s always a refreshing moment to be creative for the sake of being creative.

It’s vitally important as someone who designs for others to have an opportunity to start with a clean slate. I hope this sparks some inspiration for you while designing the wedding of your dreams.

I wanted to share some insights into the design process for this shoot.

CONCEPT:

When trying to envision what I wanted to represent my brand, a few thoughts came to my mind:

  1. I wanted it to be realistic. It always breaks my heart when brides get frustrated with designs they see because they don't seem achievable. Everything in this shoot needed to be relatable to clients & something that I could accomplish for them without question.

  2. Modern, simple, rich. A great designer knows how to achieve luxurious looks in an achievable way. A lot of that comes from thinking outside the box or adding TEXTURES. Let me say it again - TEXTURES.

INSPIRATION:

I tell my clients time and time again - I’m inspired by nature. This big beautiful earth is the beginning of all beauty and I want to pull all I can from it. I don ‘t want to be looking at other weddings and just replicate them. That’s not what I do. I want to be inspired by something because that’s when true magic happens.

My biggest piece of inspiration for this shoot was from a picture of boulders in Colorado. I saw these boulders & stones and felt instantly drawn to them. I loved the earthy tones and textures, so I just ran with that.

As you can see, I used stones, natural linen textures, & neutral tones throughout to really grasp that earthy vibe.

I wouldn’t have been able to see this come to life without an incredible team of vendors by my side. It takes a village. Even for a style shoot.
